agreed value classic insurance- who to talk to?
Discussion
currently insured with lancaster, on agreed value. have been sent renewal and a form to fill in (again) with regard to agreed value (sub £20k).have to send pictures (again) and signed valuation form to state value as per last year. on ringing lancaster it would appear you must do this annually and pay a 15 quid valuation fee.
i can get an agreed valuation letter from the owners club for what the car is worth, and provide endless pics, but do any other reputable/reliable classic brokers/companies offer a scheme where you do this just once rather than the annual ballache this would be?
i dont want cheapest is best insurance, just someone who understands and agrees the value of my car once and will honour it. should the worst happen i only want the valuation agreed on the car, its not like its a million pound ferrari.
suggestions please? have been told haggerty are good, but their website states no claims within 5 yrs and unfortunately i had a coming together with a cyclist while towing 3yrs ago.
the classic is on a 3kmiles policy and summer use only etc
cheers

I have an agreed value policy with Lancaster and they've never asked for new pictures. I can't remember exactly what value it is but less than 10k. I wonder if yours is more and is triggering the renewal nag? Or it might be that I update this in June when my renewal is up.
have rung them and its annual, and above 10k so maybe thats it. will have a ring round as its another hassle you dont need tbh annually. quite disapointed tbh with RH classics, the girl on the phone was obviously new and took 35mins to go through the quotation, and had to go for advice on a number of issues leaving me hanging. quote came in at 205quid, with agreed value, compared to £170 with Lancaster and £165 with Footman James for the same policy on the same car. FJ seem clued up and i await their valuation form, once agreed it stands for 4 yrs without having to go back annually to comfirm it.
