I'm having trouble logging into my works laptop.

Its running XP Pro SP1. It keeps on telling me i'm typing the wrong password, then locks me out. I can log into other machines though with the same user name and password.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Its a right pain in the arse!

Are you logging onto the domain account or the local one? You can have two users with the same name, one on the laptop and one on the domain. The passwords aren't necessarily the same!

Sounds like you are trying to log onto the local account on the XP lappy, rather than the domain account.

Caps Lock?

You may have already picked this up but it is surprising the number of people who forget.

It was the domain account. The local account requires a different user name and password.

I've solved the problem though! - I'm in the process of re imaging the whole thing!
