My old Rover has been keyed, its a boring old 75 so god knows why but non the less it looks scruffy'er now.
What would I be looking at do you reckon to get it sorted :S
its basically all the way along the side of the car from back wing to front - one big long key frown

Sorry to hear that - very annoying. Buy some spray paint, spray it into a container, buy a fine paintbrush and very carefully touch it in. If you do it carefully it wont be that noticeable. Doing this rather than buying a touch-up stick means that the paint is thinner and easier to apply neatly...you'll need to wait for a few minutes so it thickens slightly though.

If you wanted a better job, but still less than paying for the panel to be painted, you could see if you could pick up some panels in the same colour and swap them over - lots more hassle though!

Perhaps £500-£800 if you want it painted professionally.

stupidly expensive. when I had my last focus about a week after I got it, I came back to it in a car park and you could see a key had ran over the front and back doors right thru to the metal, it was metalic paint so my repair quotes were anything from 300 - 800. Can it not be cheaper to shoot these people?

Unfortunately as bad as it may sound, the cost to repair properly is probably going to be significantly more than the value of the car.

i would do as a previous poster said and have a go with a brush.

if its a dark colour it can be matched in paintless scratch repair system SSR used by some of the mobile repair guys, probably £150, does not work so well on lighter colours but great on dark colours.

this is the company I have used , you will need to find who in your areas uses them
