I've joined the reserve list for a track day at Croft at the end of March. There were spaces up until a few days ago but I dithered too much!

Has anyone done this on here and does anyone have any idea what the chances are of people cancelling so I can get on? Do people cancel track days very often?

I know this is probably a bit of a stupid question and depends on many different factors but if there's a chance, I need to book a day off work!

It's completely unpredictable I'm afraid Jackuar so it's completely down you if you want to take the risk with a holiday day from work. The 88db Croft day is limited to 30 cars though so take into the small number of potential drop outs compared to most events. The event is full a month in advance so chances are usually higher that someone will need to make alternative arrangements in that time but as I say there is no predicting when it will happen, if it ever does.

I have been on both ends of this stick before so here is mt 2p.

Once I turned up to a fully booked Cadwell park day with Javelin & asked "on the off chance" and got on.... I didn't even go to try, I just went to watch, as I know how well booked up their Cadwell days are. I just asked & got on.

Another time I arrived at one of their Elvington days & had to pull out due to a problem that developed on the way there & so someone else got on.

Yes, it can be hit & miss, but it is still worth a go, at least you will get to have a look round & get some tips.

I can only suggest turning up on the off chance that someones been kicked off for noise and get part of the day at a cheaper price (if JT allow)

At Javelins first donington one in october last year, 2 of my friends got on after being on the reserve list, one a full day and the second got a half day at a cheaper rate, there was 90 cars or so booked on for that day and a couple of cars ended up with some damage after the morning session so anything can happen. Definatly worth turning up if your local to the track.

Thanks for the tips guys. I've heard from Javelin that I'm number one on the reserve list so fingers crossed I'll get on. I think I'll head over anyway and at the very least I'll get to see some action on the track.

Ive been on the reserve list twice and got on both times. Plenty of time for someone to drop out.
