So my car was damaged by a local garage whilst in for the MOT (Split fibreglass and paint scraping)

I delivered my car to them yesterday for the respray. And I've just got a call saying it's ready for collection...

Now to me this is too quick, for a fibreglass repair to have cured and then been painted in a space of about 36 hours?

What would you suggest I look out for, question, worry about etc with this repair to ensure I cover myself were there to be any recurring issues?

I would look for micro blistering, these may take some time to appear though.
You never know you may be lucky.

If I were to be unhappy with the work carried out, would I have any legal right to refuse to accept the vehicle until done to my satisfacation by a repairer of MY choice this time, yet still at the garages expense?

I would have thought that time to be enough to carry out the said repair. With the application of heat the curing times can be reduced dramatically. But of course you're right to be cautious, have you picked it up yet?

On any other repair yes, but with fibreglass its a bit of a false economy.

I picked it up yesterday and haven't had internet until just now.

The work they've done seems pretty sound, the only issue it a white residue which I can only assume is tape residue.

I'll keep my eye on it but fingers crossed everything will be okay...

Just compounding polish residue, caused by it being washed or rain after the repair. It will disappear after one or two washes. smile

Okay, so after a complete inspection I;ve notice that they have managed to stress fracture paint in the middle of the bumper, it looks like a massive spiders web.

Now to begin with this garage wasn't the most helpful or enthusiastic at rectifying this issue, I feel that if I ask them to now sort out this one they'll tell me to Foxtrot Oscar...
