I know in the grand scheme of life's problems this is negligible but....

Why do garages feel the need to completely readjust your seat just to run a car into a repair bay or onto a 4 post lift in a routine service!? It's annoying, and the seat never feels quite the same when you try and fiddle it back. A fault finding test-drive I can understand, but surely you'd have to be massively differently proportioned to need to change a customers driving position otherwise.

I'm mildly annoyed! irked

Probably because they don't want to have to drive a car onto a lift, or between the pillars in an uncomfortable position?

Luckily for me my car has the seat all the way back! smile

You'd be more annoyed if they fired your P&J into the workshop wall because their feet couldn't operate the controls properly!!!!!

Nobody can get in to my car as my legs are so short. They have to move the seat to actually get in.

I think it's part of the service schedule at FIAT garages. Proves they've actually been in the car before they stamp the service book and hand you the invoice for the adjustment. They like to retune the radio too for extra kudos.

Nope, off today! My tongue is in cheek (mostly) but surely a mechanic would have to be massively different to my very average 5'10" to need to alter a seat just to back into a bay. It just messes with my car feng shui man, and I bet they know it!

Damn garage smashed my car up driving it onto the ramps because the lazy buggs couldn't even be bothered to adjust the seat so they could reach the foot brake.

Where do I stand?

No problem for me. Seat all the way back and back adjusted to the point just before it starts rubbing against the back of the cabin. (This isn't far in an MR2). Luckily both chaps at the specialist I use are tall hehe

Next time tick the memory option for the seat if it makes your life so miserable.
