I have got itch to start a project that may well feature a Chevy LS3.

I have seen the many places that can sell me a new crate LS3, which is fine, but I wondered if anyone knew of any breakers that might be able to supply.

And what I might expect to pay for an engine with reasonable miles on it..

I imported one from a breaker I found on us ebay.m

No problems at all, but you just need to find a freight forwarder and the one I used has shut up shop.

The engine was perfect.

All in cost was 2k but I reckon you can add 50% I would nab thought now due to increase in fx and vat

Definately look to the USA for this as you'll be unlikely to find anything over here. Payments usually quite easy and shipping doesn't cost an arm or a leg.

There is a seller on ebay who seems to have a few alloy 5.3's in the UK

They make a very good value platform to start with, unless you really insist on a larger engine.

Thanks for the replies guys, for some reason when I searched on ebay for LS3 - that didn't come up.

Food for thought...

Auto or manual? There was an L99 VVT from a camaro about in London the other day.
But its DOD and VVT so needs to go with the Auto trans. Price was good though.
PM me if interested its with a GM employee. He may still have it. Ill dig out the email.
