high mileage commute car bargains for sub £8k
Discussion
Looking at a commute of 30k PA....
Need to minimise fuel costs and maximise comfort....
Heart says Alfa 159 JTD:

Taxi company owning friend says 407 HDi.
Probably change the car every 2 years. Anything is going to take a hit in value over 2 years and 60k, but man maths dictates a 100k 5yr old Alfa 159 will retain more money than an 80k 5yrs old 407.
Can you do better? I'd like to say not fussed about looks, but do think the alfa looks a great place to sit.

ETA - 30k, commute? As in, you're paying the fuel? That's quite a lot, what's rent on a Mon-Fri guesthouse going to be?
