Hi, have purchased a 7 for track days, however, my son is 6 ft 4 and big built, therefore doesn't fit in car very well with normal seats, I'm 5 ft 10 and it fits me well, would fitting a tillet seat, or a go kart seat give him more room, or could we just use foam velcro'd to floor and back as a seat?
Help appreciated.

Expanding foam seat are said to be best by many. Put very simply, pour two part expanding foam into a bag in the car sit in it wait for it to set.Plenty about it on Blatchat.

Excellent idea, is the seat then fitted in any way, or just fitted loose?

No fixings are required.
Normally the seat needs to be made in two parts, with a base and a back section (otherwise you can't twist them to get them out)
As you're quite different in size, you're likely to need your own seats making so that you can leave the pedals in a position that suits both of you.
Does the car have a lowered floor? If not, then that is worth considering before making foam seats.

Not cheap, but if I was going this direction this is what I'd look at . . .

With the car I just got it came with one of them and must admit quality of it was excellent - unfortunately my body shape isnt same and I doubt i can just hacksaw chunks off it smile

And I am 6ft4in and didn't fit in car without a lowered floor but its *possible* i guess if you went beaded seat route

The realequipe seats look really good, any idea if there is an approved traveling fitter who would come to me and cast / cover one in the midlands at all?

Sorry, no idea. Just that i'd'use them if i needed a bag seat rather than the foam version ...

He's ex-F1, there's an interesting article somewhere I think in track-driver magazine showing the fitting process and how it can work a bit better than the foam process.

Realequipe have made a seat at ours. It really is a stunning job. I believe they travel all over. If you want to look at one of theirs for a Caterham let me know
