A chippy near me was shut down for selling Hoki as Cod and one for selling Vietnamese river cobbler, which is what you mean by catfish, I assume(?)

There is a huge difference in flavour of the fried fish.

Catfish is often sold up north as rock salmon, personally I can't stand it- the flavour and texture are very different to cod.

There are some other fish on the other hand which I don't honk you'll tell apart!

I thought rock salmon was dogfish?
Didnt realise basa was catfish,tried it a few times n its very nice.

Correct, Rock, Dog, Huss , many names but instantly recognisable , part of the shark family and nothing like catfish .
