Focus ST mpg as daily compared to E36 M3

Hi guys,
I'm thinking of getting a Focus ST2, a few of these have come up lately where i could get good deals but have turned away because of being unsure about fuel consumption. I know they're not amazing, but what could i reasonably expect from a 20-25 mile commute B roads, and 20-25 mile commute on A roads.

If it's likely to be better than my E36 M3 Evo, then I would certainly consider it. My trip computer tells me i get about 28-29mpg on B road commute to work, I would estimate it is more 25-26 but haven't done a full tank consumption test yet.

Can they get return good figures if driven sensibly?

Are you talking about the 2.5 litre 5 pot engine? Mine averaged 25mpg, rarely got it higher than that unless very gentle on a run.

I tended to use mine for recreational use only and averaged about 20mpg, at worst single figures and the odd dip into the high 20's on a long, dull trip.

I get about 21-24 average, with about 35 on a long boring 60-65MPH run. A good run will drop it to mid to low teens.
