New Keeper Supplement Barcode Issue

Chaps,

I have just bought a new car and have taxed it through the post office today. For some reason the chap in the post office couldn't scan the barcode on the new keeper supplement. I've paid for and am in possession of a new tax disc. He said he had to tax it 'manually'. Will the new tax details be sent to DVLA? I don't want to be stopped by police for seemingly not having valid tax.

Any help appreciated.
