We need to get a small van for local deliveries.

Nothing bigger than a VW Caddy, budget of around 5k.

Not having a clue about vans (apart from seeing the above and thinking that size will do) - what options would best from a cost point of view and also how bad / good are they to drive?

Caddys are great, Peugeots are a lot better than the cars - we have a bucnh of Partners at work.

Some people like Transit Connects but we had build quality issues with them, and wouldn't buy any more.

Are there any Nissan S-Cargos left? Pretty small (maybe too small) and guaranteed to draw attention to your business...

Good choice. Don't get the SDi - they are very slow.

Renault Kangoo is the best of those sort IME. Peugot Partner is quite nice too.

No you don't want a Caddy, Caddy owners are odd and actually have meets. I know I passed a group of them gathered together outside a road side cafe, they were standing around comparing shiney rims, spot lights, odd paint jobs and DRl's, rather like a bunch of Saxo owners at a Macdonalds.

Get a Sprinter or Vito and be a normal member of society!

Whereas the two at my work have both had identical faults to each other.

The door stays rip out of the door frames if the wind catches the door when you open them.

The gear lever has a section of linkage welded to it just below the gearknob. This has failed on both vans rendering them unable to select gears.

Interior trim appears to be made of paper. Low quality paper at that, disintegrates by looking at it.

Starting problems on both of them.

Awful tracking problems on both of them. Eat tyres before you notice.

One had a unique issue where upon application of the handbrake, the handbrake cable sliced through the van like cheese wire.

Good luck with yours, but I would happily drive both ours off a pier. Wouldn't even stop to watch them sink.
