Warranty is due to run out at the end of March, and the car will be due it's first MOT.

Can I get the MOT done a few days early so if any advisories/failures are shown I can get them sorted?

Previously when asking another garage to run a test for me (rolling road for sticky brakes) whilst the car is under warranty, they've said they can't touch any car that's under warranty.

You can get any car MOT'd any time you like.

In later years the MOT can be taken up to a month in advance of expiry and is valid for a year from the expiry date of the current MOT. However your first MOT is only valid for a year from the test date, not the car's third birthday. Therefore there is some advantage to leaving the first MOT test as late as possible.

As long as you notify the dealer of any faults within the warranty period they can be rectified later.

they don't have to "touch" it, just test the brakes...I don't see their viewpoint quite.

I've had first MOTs done on both cars and bikes a few weeks before their third birthday and they ran until the 4th birthday and not 12 months from the test date. A few years ago right enough thetefore have the rules changed?
