DB7 Garage size?

OK, so here's the thing,

I'm possibly thinking of moving away from the TVR fold (Currently driving a Tamora) and jumping into Aston Ownership, and the first place to start for me would be a DB7.

The thing is that the garage i have is not the biggest in the world.

Does anyone house their DB7 in a small garage, and if so what sort of dimensions can i get away with?!!

Exact dimension of the car can be found with google - as a general thought though, it is a surprisingly slim car. But it is very long.

Getting it into a small garage is not the problem, its the opening the door wide enough for you to get out

I've a nice big double garage but my neighbour with a single garage has to drive his Merc in with the hood down and then climb over the back to get out - keeps us all amused

Getting out of a 7 in a single garage is difficult unless the window is down. Lower the window and it's relatively easy. Trouble is, the window is then down (and the window switch is by the gear stick)

....and you need the door closed and the ignition on to close the window.

Make sure you get rid of ALL the clutter in your garage first.

The door aperture was the main concern.

I know opening the window is a solution, but as you have said closing it after may be a slightly different scenario.

I know it will fit (just) length ways, and closed the car itself will fit, but i just need to do some more thinking about the door open situation!

I'm not exactly the smallest person in the world!

Me & Mrs Burntout have been house hunting recentley and so far I have only got as far as the garage with my tape measure... If the car wont fit in then I wont even continue the rest of the tour...

One house had double garage (staggered) 2 doors again car wont fit....
Then found another that did have a double sized single door but the rest of the house was a no go for Mrs....

The hunt continues...

Stick some carpet on the garage wall where your door will open.

This is a problem I hope to encounter soon as well; in fact a garage extension scheme is in planning as I need a workbench at the end too. However the 'getting out' problem will be easily solved by choosing a Volante

So to all you DB7 VV owners out there, if you have a late model in VGC and the right colours... a PM might shift it for you...! (and the Griff will have to go to make room)

Hi Alanb,
I have found that the best method for parking the DB7's, in what is a narrow garage, is to have strategically located carpet mats on the wall of the garage and to reverse the vehicles into the garage. It is a great deal easier to position the cars close to the passenger side wall of the garage by using the wing mirrors, than if you were to drive the cars in front first.
