Sorry... another Camshaft question.
Discussion
Right then, this is getting very complicated, I have been searching for a good few hours now but to no avail
I am hoping to have the Typhoon Camshaft from Real Steel but, I can't for the life of me find out what modifications, if any, I will need to fit it to my, so far, standard 1998 450.
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. I have spoken to Real Steel, they have been helpful and understandably they are not keen for me to 'lunch' my engine, obviously neither am I, they have mentioned the need of Double Valve Springs and pocketed pistons(?). We seem to be in a bit of shtuck here........

Cheers Derek, I thought it alrady had double valve springs but these other things are confusing me, as well as Real Steel. Did you have to do anything before you installed your Typhoon, or had you already modded before the cam went in?
My engine is Peters old engine which is Brummmies old engine. Its had a long and interesting journey.Mines a 4.6 block but has 4.0 pistons. These have shallower dishes and no valve cutouts. So unless i am mistaken (and i often am
) that if my engine can run the typhoon then so can yours. I need some back up here guys....
For a relatively simple cam swap all that is required is the Typhoon, hi-rev lifters (not those rhoads things), a cloyes or vernier timing set, gaskets, lube, and maybe a rocker pedestal shim set.
Drive in drive out + 20 bhp

I mean... how hard can it be?

Obviously quite tricky, when not using a MC1 or stealth cam Mines a 4.6 block but has 4.0 pistons. These have shallower dishes and no valve cutouts. So unless i am mistaken (and i often am
