Hello,
I'm looking to sell my 2009 Cayman S PDK. I'm based in Reading, Berks and was wondering if anyone would like to recommend dealers I should contact.
I've looked at the 'Specialists, sales and servicing' topic and going to ring round a few people but looking for advice.
Would appreciate Private messages or replies here based on what the forum rules allow.

Thanks for your help.

Talk to 911 Virgin, I have bought and sold quite a few cars over the years and have never come across a more professional company.
Good luck with the sale.

^ There's the answer. They'll check the car over and transfer the money while you wait.

Thanks NJA and Magic919.
911V was first on my list, I've called them now and given them the car details, will follow it through.

Also worth trying RSJ in slough for comparison.

No idea what they're like when the boot's on the other foot so to speak, but I bought my car from Northway and they were very good to deal with. Not far down the A4 near Aldermaston.

Thanks all, I appreciate you taking the time.
Stirlings: I've sent you more details about my car by email.
Porkupine: I've got in touch with RSJ now but they are only looking for Cayman S’s with a certain wheel size at present.
Sundayjumper: I've called Northway and they've promised to get back to me.

I found it unusual too. I've got 18" Boxster SII wheels, they said they're interested in 19" wheels.
I'm no expert in the car trade and they are...

Seems weird to specify only 19" wheels... surely they can shift cars with 18" alloys at the right price. To say "no" to all 18" cars seems rather odd to me.

I think Joel at RSJ is of the opinion that most people want 19" wheels on them as when I spoke to him last year about taking my Cayman in px he said he valued it at what he did as he would have to put a set of 19's on it to sell it.

That's what I would expect. The more undesirable Cayman's with 18" alloys are obviously going to be worth less but at the right price, they will still shift them. To say they are not interested at all is rather confusing.

I still find it a bit strange as handling has to play a part and plenty say they prefer the ride on 18's, its not all about looks IMHO!

If the 993 is anything to go by the larger the wheel size the crappier the ride.....I think this applies to most cars and add low profile tyres into the mix and it's even worse....If I were buying a cayman I would be looking at the smaller wheel size as my preferred choice.

+1 on Virgin 911 in Uxbridge....great guys with whom to deal.

It looks like 911Virgin don't have a problem with buying/Pxing Caymans with 18" wheels either as they have one for sale.

For what it's worth, when I bought mine, I decided on the standard 18" wheels based on the following advice from the Porsche salesman and friends.
1. People buy bigger wheels because they think they look nicer.
2. Bigger wheels/lower profile tyres would spoil the ride with no benefits for handling.
3. Lower profile tyres would be much more expensive to buy when you need new tyres.

I think the moral of this story is: there's nowt as queer as folk...
My Cayman is on standard 18" and frankly the ride is uncomfortable enough at low speeds in potholed towns on those!

This is exactly it, people are fickle. The majority of buyers want the 'Look' and 19" wheels is critical. My last two Boxsters were on 19's and the ride was horrible on rough terrain (UK roads).

I had the same issue when i was looking to sell my Cayman S, I got a number of different bids from traders including 911V (who were very friendly and helpful) and a few others. I ended up selling privately in the end, have you listed it for sale or are you looking for a quick trade?

I bought my Cayman on 18's. God only knows how bad the ride is on 19's...
