I'm back too...
Discussion
Just got back from the South of France...Nice, Beaulieu and St.Jean Cap Ferrat.
Got to go through the pics to get the best ones...but take a look at this one...
From the balcony:
And a tighter crop:
No editing done at all, except compression for the web.
15th September 8:19pm local (7:19pm BST)
30 seconds, f5, ISO 100, 18mm
My guess is a satellite or rocket, rather then a "shooting star". Looked up on the web just now and read about a failed rocket launch crashing into the Mediterranean.
Some might also have read about the world's largest single masted yacht crashing into the rocks, the Mirabella V. Well, it happened right in front of us, and your PH reporter captured the best pictures....far far better than any you may have seen on the BBC website or the broadsheets last week. Went to see International Boat Magazine this afternoon with the pics, and they went nuts about them, so discussing fees etc
. Glad I picked up a 70-200 2.8L before leaving.

Of course.....just as soon as things are sorted out with the magazine. They asked for the pictures to remain exclusive for the time being.
Here's one though.
{picture removed for the time being}
As for getting them published, maybe nothing will come of it. If it does, then great. If not...oh well. Fee wise, its likely to be peanuts...standard rates they say, but its the satisfaction of getting published as far as I'm concerned.
