Heavy clutch.Mk 0ne Tuscan

Hi all. Perhaps i'm getting old.But my clutch seems more than a bit heavy.As with all our previous Tivs,My wife loves to drive them.But i fear she is being put off a bit by how tiring it is for her to drive because of this,and i love looking at her constant grin when she does drive. I've notice on the clutch pedal that there is two settings for the bar leading to the clutch master cylinder.Mine is set on the top setting.Is it possible to move the connecting rod to the bottom setting,or will this not work.
I've mentioned this problem to a couple of fellow Tuscan owners,and they both say its very heavy.I sat in theirs,and both felt like the clutch on an old Mini compared to mine.One even said "mine went stiff like that just before i had the have the master cylinder replaced". I have noticed that the clutch starts to bite very close to the bottom.
Any ideas please?

Re: your comments regard bite point and also heaviness, I would agree that the hydraulics would seem to be questionable.
I might also suggest that the clutch pack itself might be getting tired.
I had mine replaced last month - - but the clutch was definitely dragging/getting baulky when changing gear. What a difference! The clutch is now as light as a light thing!
Car is sooo much easier to drive in traffic now.

The latest AP clutch pack is supposed to last longer. I've averaged just over 20k miles to a clutch so far but my car spent 7 years as a daily driver.I've got an '04 car. First clutch replaced at circa 25K miles, latest replacement at 54K miles.
Does this mean my next at 89,000??

Hi All the car has got roughly 29K total on it.I believe the previous owner (tuscantim) had the clutch and flywheel changes approx 18 months ago.Surely the clutch won't be going yet?
Referring back to the two mounting points on the pedal,and i mentioned that mine was set at the top mount. Well the strangest bit of help came in the form of a post on the Tuscan forum.Its a video of a Mk 1 Tuscan on you tube topic title is "Brilliant Tuscan Video".Its all foreign,But a great video never the less.During the film the presenter gets out of the car,and the camera zooms in on the pedal box.And shows the rod mounted in the bottom hole. This must make it easier to push down?.

Just thought i'd let you know that the problem has been solved with my heavy clutch. Took Gordon (previous owners name for the car) back to Bespoke TVR at Ware. They fixed it in 5 minutes flat.The mounting point for the connecting rod was moved down to the bottom hole. Simples!!
So Thanks very much mechanic Graham in the workshop. That bloke knows so much about TVR's.
