After reading that lot - it sounds really impressive.

Wonder why they are not telling us the price.

It might be but it's probably one of the most important improvements to the strength of the chassis. The much discussed floppiness of the Griff/chim chassis has often been suggested to be a result of chopping the roll-cage off the tuscan racer chassis from which it was derived.

more likely due to less metal used in the griff/chim chassis , have You tried to lift a bare challenge chassis ? I have one and it weighs a ton !

Thanks for the positive comments guys, prices still TBA but we expect our fully built Evolution chassis to be in the region of around £3k more than our fully built new standard chassis. The roll hoop is optional yes, but significantly increases chassis rigidity so we advise it, it also fits standard cars and has an equally dramatic effect.
We aim to have a new chassis on display at the Neil Garner open day at the end of March and rolling chassis' and cars on display at various other shows through the year, currently in build on the first chassis is an early Chimaera thats getting a GM LSA 6.2 supercharged motor 556hp and on the order books after that 3 Griffiths, an LS3 430, an LS3 480 and RichardD's yank built bespoke LS with god knows how many horses.

I love this....

Chevy just upgraded the engine for the new C7 Corvette with even some more naturally aspirated horses, will that fit too Ian?

(And did you already receive my Nitrons? ;-)

Ian, will that roll bar design allow the seats to be all the way back on their runners? I'd like a roll bar but I'm pretty tall and I think all the designs I've seen so far do compromise the seat position unless anyone knows otherwise?

Looking forward to seeing your new chassis at some point but given that you've already done my outriggers and the rest is fine it might be a bit of an extravagance to go for one before the rest gets rusty!

Hi Ruari, the seat will go fully back and the head rest will go to its full height (see pics on my website), we designed it around me sitting in a Griff so ok for 6ft 1 and 3/4!, I'm not quite as tall as you though! Main focus was trying to get it as hign as possible into the roof and not stopping the seat going fully back. You should be ok with one but I would advise some roll cage padding just in case you bump your head on it, its a bit of a trade off really with all of them, they will save you in a full roll but you might hit you head on the hoop in a minor collision so they need padding, they are no worse than being in a T350 or Tuscan though.

Thanks Ian, hopefully I'll get the chance to sit in one at some point this year

For padding you really need confor foam, the sort of stuff used round F1 cockpits, which feels pretty firm to press but has the right properties to protect you in an impact. Used in crash test dummies also I believe.

See the bottom of this page, available in flat sheets
http://www.safetydevices.com/motorsport/products/i...

I'd certainly want a roll bar nicely trimmed in leather too, not that a roll bar can really imply luxury!

Ian, is your development of the chassis aimed at track use too?

i.e would it be eligeble for DTEC ?

I guess it would need a 6 point full cage for this.

Just contemplating how it will fit under my new Tub as at one point i had considered using a tuscan challenge chassis;)

...
The suspension geometry and fatter anti roll bars mean an Evo chassis equipt car will have less body roll than a standard car.

So not quite so stiff suspension could be used for a full track set-up.
