Looking to purchase a trailer to tow: Lotus Elise S2, Elise weight is 710 KG, unladen, but it needs to be at least 68 inches/1720mm width as the Elise is fairly wide, and I was about to purchase a Brian James Minno Sport, yesterday, but it was too narrow.

Being towed by a B Class, max tow weight is 1500kg in total to include car and trailer. So the trailer needs to be under 790kg.

Any advice or ideas of what I should buy are welcome?

Been told 2 axle, but I don't mind a single axle either.

Next up from a Minno is an 'A-max'
bear in mind that all BJTs were available in a range of sizes.

Not really practical to take fronts off to make it fit a trailer!

I have an extra wide Woodford single axle to tow my Reliant Kitten which is a similar weight but is 6ft 6" wide - can't recommend it enough and was about £1500 brand spankers with a tyre rack on.

Most of the weight of the elise is over the rear wheels. Be sure to account for this.

That seems a touch light for an S2. I'd reckon more like 850kgs.

Depends what's been done to it, but I agree that sounds light. My S1 with MMC brakes was 730kg.

OP: is this car a racer with HVAC and various other roadcar bits removed?

The early bog standard S2 was lighter than the last of the line S1 111s at circa 745kg.

Later Toyota powered S2's are probably nearer your 850kg figure.
