Hi all, my boxster s 05 plate needs four new tyres. I have been quoted 360 for two rear mich Pilot sports 17 inch and 250 for the same at the front! I think that seems okay? Thoughts?

Do black circles fit at home? I thought they were just wholesale?

Lepson's, Gillingham, Kent just replaced 4 x 19 inch Mich Super sports, matched my best price and were ultra careful with refurbed rims.

I had two rears fitted to my 2002 S last week. The best price I found after trawling the net was... Wait for it... Kwik Fit! And they included free mobile fitting at my office, so no wasting my weekend. £153 each for the rears, for proper N rated Pirelli P Zero Rossos. Had the Michelins on it before (only had it a month) and the Pirellis seem to grip a lot better - i suspect they may not last as long as the previous owner kept his tyres, but what the heck!

Yes, they have fitting partners, some of which are places like central tyres. Or there are mobile fitters as well that have contracts with them. My local guy is ace, and to be honest, that's why I use black circles as he takes his time and is a genuine enthusiast with great knowledge of tyres.

Here's the guy. Maybe I should go direct to him!,

I was a little sceptical at first. But the morning they were due, the fitter called me about an hour before he expected to be there. He arrived in a Kwik Fit liveried van plus uniform - in the past other companies i have used have local fitters - this guy appeared to be Kwik Fit employed. The tyres were perfectly balanced, and I got a printed receipt with a tyre tread check on it. And no damage to the alloys. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. He said they normally do all the company cars, but now Kwik Fit are pushing it as a service to private customers too.

Maybe Kwik Fit have realised they need to be competitive if they want our beer tokens...

Lovetyres seem to be cheapest I have found for my car, cheaper than camskill, blackcircles, tyreshopper etc.

You must be looking at a different size to me. Just rechecked 255/40 17" £153 each. Don't know whether they will fit your car, but they certainly fit mine well enough!
