brake Pads welded on
Discussion
I have had this problem in the past - a strong right foot will free the rears. Fronts can be a bit more tricky especially if it happens when you are on a gravel drive
I managed to free mine with persistent forwards and backwards motion combined with a touch of WD40. Not ideal, but when the fronts are just sliding on the gravel, there is not a lot of choice. The WD burns off so no long term damage...
Moral of the story is drive it more regularly over the winter.....

Well I visited the lockup again today and managed to single-handedly (quite literally) free off the brake pads. I simply grabbed a spoke on a front wheel, got a good grip and tugged it back and forth unitl a delicate, yet defining crunch sounded and the wheels moved freely - it amazed me how lightweight and so easy to move the car is once it was freed up. Very happy with my intuition.
