Not sure what I have done this time! Hence the request for help.
I have pain and weakness when lifting my leg. Lifting as in knee raises, or when doing leg raises as an abdominal exercise. I thought that it might be my psoas so I have been stretching and strenghtening that. However, I've looked at an anatomical chart and wonder if it might be one of the adductors? They seem to locate in the right place for the pain and weakness I am getting - possibly the magnus?
The pain is at the front of the groin to the inner thigh. I do get referred pain down to the knee sometimes.
No problems when I walk or use a xtrainer, but getting out of a low car hurts and I feel that I need to support the leg with my hand. No problem doing leg presses etc.
Any ideas? I had a hip replacement on that side about 20 months ago, which is absolutely great. However I have read that invasive surgery of the pelvis can cause damage in that region - and as far as I know they have to bend and yank the buggery out of the leg to gain access to the joint for replacement.
Do I have another permanent condition to work around? Or can I heal this one?
TIA folks.

I was in pretty much the same situation. Hip replaced Jan 2012 and around Christmas could suddenly hardly lift my leg. Wasn't sure whether to go for physio, see my GP or contact orthopaedics. Took the GP option - he referred me for x-ray to be on the safe side which showed everything fine so off to the physio I went.
Turns out the muscle at the top of the thigh (forget the name) had gone into spasm so I'm seeing physio once a week - but it's nearly back to normal now.
My two penn'orth - get to your GP just to rule out anything untoward then start the physio.
