That's really cool, I can only imagine the feeling of freedom (many multiples of your first solo drive without an instructor I imagine).

Haha, yeah it certainly climbs a good bit faster... Think I was at 1000 feet by the end of the runway.

I was flying a C42 Ikarus.

Well done! I've not managed to replicate a feeling quite like it since. I think it worked out at about 50% excitement, 50% terror.

Conditions seemed quite good today, with light winds, but where I was there was a haze layer at 1000 ft (no horizon )

my airfield is at 900 feet! Weather up here wasn't quite as forgiving but by no means bad.

Congratulations OP. I remember the feeling. Every fibre of my being wanted to explode in excitement once I realised I was down safe and I'd actually done it. I didn't sing my way around the circuit like InkyFingers but I once I was back on the ground I did whoop a lot.

Fantastic. Well done. Was a great day today for flying.

Wish I had time (and funds) to learn to fly. It's the one regret I have in life that I'm not flying around for a living

I was going to fly down there from Perth this morning but when I phoned to PPR they said it wasn't the nicest weather so went elsewhere. Saw post on FB that someone had gone solo there today, you mentioned C42 Ikarus and 900ft airfield so 2+2 = 4(ish)

Yeah, I flew early on. It was clear to the north but the clouds were closing in from the SW.
