Resident Evil 5 - Veteran Difficulty
Discussion
It's my first time playing so I stuck it straight on veteran. It's really hard!
I'm enjoying it but it's a real slog to get through some levels and I'm only 4 or 5 levels in. That chainsaw guy took me ages to kill!
I thought the format, with having an AI partner, would get annoying but it actually seems to be OK. So far. I just wish the AI didn't go through its ammo so quick.
Don't know whether to keep it on veteran or drop it down...
Navigating the menus is a pain though, I don't know why they thought that was a good idea. Want to use a herb or first aid spray and you need to go into menu, navigate to herb, click it, click use. That's getting annoying.

Even as a seasoned gamer and a fan of previous generations of RE I couldn't get out of the first room on RE5 on normal difficulty. The controls were clunky and frustrating and despite a few hours of attempts I gave up. I sold it on eBay shortly after buying and I haven't bought RE6 as a result.
A lot of people hated the AI in RE5, but Veteran was the only real time I had an issue with it. If I ever went into "danger" state I'd just restart since there was almost no chance of them bothering to revive me. The part in the temple with Jill and Wesker was an utter nightmare though
