My 350z UK GT.... a day of cleaning and a mini photoshoot
Discussion
With the dry weather today I had enough time to wash, clay, polish and wax the new Zed. Spent a good 5 hours on it. Typical the sun vanished as I grabbed the camera, but took what I hope are a few decent ones anyway!
Overall I'm quite pleased with the condition of the bodywork for an 8 year old car! One tiny parking ding right on the door panel crease but I hadn't noticed it until today. No major swirl marks, just a few scratches on the front bumper passenger side but that'll be getting resprayed soon to rectify this (I'm picky!) along with the bonnet which has a few stonechips at the bottom.
Got lots of horn pips and thumbs up from passers by, lots of double takes too- seems a young lady polishing a nice car is a rarity!
Found it tricky to get the shine on camera with Gunmetal paint. My last car was black and seemed much easier to get a deeper gloss, on an older car too. Maybe attack with a machine polisher next time!
Here's the stuff I used if anybody is interested:
Washed with Muc Off Ubershine shampoo
Dried with large microfibre towel
Claybarred with boggo Turtlewax clay kit
Polished with Autoglym Super Resin
Waxed with Dodo Juice Supernatural
Headlights (and exhaust tips roughly done) polished with Autoglym metal polish
And the pics!
