OK, so as per my post in general section, having looked at a 2005 Merc C55 AMG, I'm getting tempted. I see there is also a CLK55 which am I right in thinknig is just he 2 door version?

So if I do decide to go ahead and start seriously looking at these cars, is there anything I need to be aware of? I know it's the same engine as the E55, but I neither want the bills associated with that particular car, nor do I need the size.

And finally, apart from he engine, is it really worth swapping for a Jag XF diesel (fuel costs aside)??

Thanks

Hoofy

In AMG owner circles, it's called the AMG tax. Have a look at servicing costs at your local dealership. Bear in mind, you don't just get the engine. The suspension and brakes, for instance, are supposed to be better than that on the standard C and CLK class cars.

Servicing is actually cheaper than my wife's Mito 1.3 diesel. Bargain
