Flipping through web pages, I found this:

I had an old 1995 (M) Mk1 Mondeo as one of my earlier cars.

Not a bad little motor. Keeping the gaffa tape market going since 1993!

I remember Ford had a lot of the early cars registered K1 FMC, K2 FMC up to K30 FMC. Mainly Mondeo with the odd Maverick thrown in for good measure. A lot of these cars then went on a round the world trip which was shown as a documentary for the BBC or Channel 4. Anyway, to cut a long story short, maybe 5 or 6 years ago, I called a cab to take me to Liverpool city centre and K5 FMC turned up! May have been K8 or K9 but it was 'sub 10' and definitely one of the early cars.

Apologies for raking up an old topic, but K30 FMC turned up on Facebook today, and may make MJK24 sad...

Was it grey? If so it was K9FMC, I've been picked up in it

Sadly it seems that it's no longer registered and has been scrapped in the last six months ... so there now has to be a contender for the new oldest Mondeo.

Agreed, it's not very exciting.

Mondeo was the name because it was a World Car for Ford

Like the Mondial ( worldwide ) model for Ferrari
