With the recent news that Paddy Lowe has defected to Mercedes putting Brawn's position in jeopardy, what does the future hold for him now?

A quiet retirement, or a move to a different team? Or, will a way be found for him to stay at Mercedes ?

I reckon he'll still be at Merc, probably with 'GOD' as the job title or something. He seems pretty confident it'll be the case anyway (well, maybe not the god bit)

I think he'll leave, The leadership situation there is crazy.

Question is though, where will he go? As other people have mentioned, there's a bit of an opening at Ferrari, as they have a parallel team developing the 2014 car.

I think he will put in a succession plan for someone/a team of people to take the team in to the future.

Dorothy's dog has win-win situation.

Merc succeeds and he takes the credit; Merc fails and he gets an F1 team for peanuts.

Either way, I feel Ross will be squeezed out. I do not see him having a great appetite to go elsewhere, he was made quite comfortable when he sold the team to Merc in the first place.

You do have to say that the situation makes the managment of Merc look like schmucks!

They don't seem to have got a handle on how to run the team, do they?

Is it me or does Brackley always have the same issue, too much management? There successes mostly came when Richards was in charge before Honda ruined it, and then with Brawn before Merc came in.

That is exactly what he has said, he also said that Paddy is part of that plan.

The guy is 58 and isn't short of a few quid - maybe he will retire ?

He's still doing the job this year, Paddy joins Merc in 2014.
Maybe he has a plan to retire at 60, Paddy takes over next year and he hangs around for a few months to help out ?

Either way he's been TD at F1 teams since the early 90s, 20+ years is a long time on the road, especially with how long the season is now.

They seem to be doing very well just as they are and Boullier has close ties to Genii (Gravity for one)
