Last Friday my 1995 4.0 chim developed a fault in which I havn't managed to cure. It falters on light throttle between 1000 and 2000 rpm, just holding back slightly and has a small flat spot as you press the go pedal. These are the revs I use to go to work on every day so its very annoying. Above 2000-2500 rpm everything seems to be fine. I have changed the lambda sensors which 1 was at fault, tickover is super, new dizzy cap and rotor, new leads and lots of cleaners through the system but nothing changed. I even gave it a thrash up to 5000 rpm down a motorway for 5 mins - you can imagine the speed I was doing, again nothing has changed. I have now booked into local rolling road tuner for a look. This is in a weeks time. Wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction in case I have missed something. I cleared the ECU by disconnectinhg for 10 mins with no change.
Anyone had this prob??

sounds like a dodgy throttle pot, it's on the intake to the plenum.....if you can put a meter accross it you should get an even rise/fall of resistance when you open/close the butterfly

Doesn't mean that it is good. The problem is that the meter is not as responsive to electrical noise and variation so that a duff pot can still pass the meter test. The only real way is to stick a scope onto the output and look for noise as the throttle is moved.

Anyone know if the throttle pot is a standard rover part or is it a TVR part?
