Help with headlights (Turbo S)

ok i may be embarrassing myself here but hey thats what these communities are all about for delving into info on our cars...so here goes;

Picked up my new Turbo S cab last week (see separate thread) but im confused, i expected the Turbo S to come with 'auto headlights' ie they turn on when fading light but they are not doing so as i would have expected. all my new cars past 10 years have had auto lights...hence the question am i doing something wrong here...

Choices are 'home' / 'side lights' / 'main beam' - so question is is there a auto option are do i need to manually turn my lights on / off at night?!?

any help to clarify would be appreciated as manual didnt really make it very clear...

hahaha - you'll soon learn that a 997 is technologically challenged! No auto lights I'm afraid. At least yours has PCM 3 whilst still crap compared to sat nav in say a Merc C class is light years ahead of PCM 2 I have

I'm pretty sure you can get these on a 991 but they were not available on the 997.

Agree this is silly - wife has them on the cayenne so Porsche have done them for some time.

ok thanks guys, very surprised such a car at such a price doesn't have but doesn't take anything away from the car i just need to remember to turn on the lights of my car for first time in 10 years lol

From memory, only the LED fog-lamps will switch themselves on and off automatically by default, you can tweak this using the PCM settings.

How do the fog lamps work out they are needed?
