What's the best way to measure body fat.

I will be embarking on the insanity work out soon and want to track my progress in terms of measurements and drop in body fat and weight.

Bod Pod

The only accurate way.

Forget bio-electrical impedence as this is affected by hydration status. Also forget the 4 site body fat percent protocol; use it a lot but so much comes down to the tester.

Search for your local Bod Pod on Google.

Bod Pod is still supposedly not as accurate as the marketing says it is.

If bodpod is water submerged, it is the best type we currently have?
Apart from the 'jiggle' test.

It's not, it works in a similar manner to hydrostatic weighing but uses air displacement instead.

No, hydrostatic weighing is generally considered more reliable.

Calipers are very good for tracking whether it's going up or down, and much more accurate than the scales for absolute measurements too

Absolutely and providing the tester is experienced and you use the same person each time skinfold tests are more convenient and much cheaper. For most people skinfold testing is easily accurate enough.
