Does anyone know where I can get an extension cable for my camera...

I believe (from looking on t'internet) it needs to be a Type B Male to Type A Female (basically small male end to a big female end... :sigh: sounds like my sex life!). Doesn't need to be especially long (again :sigh just a small connector one end and a receiving connector at the other.

TIA.
Phil.

My camera USBs are standard at the computer end - you just need an extension which has the same plug at that end and a socket for the similar plug from the camera USB.

I see what you mean Simpo Two but the cable is so that I can transfer the contents of my card from the camera to a memory-stick-type-usb-drive-thingy... so I need a cable that will extend and convert the camera port to a full size USB one.

ETA: Thinking about it - this may not work... maybe there needs to be some type of OS between the camera and the stick?! Anyone know?!

There is quite a short maximum length for USB cables (~5m iirc), so it depends on how far you want to extend. Any further than the max and you'll need a powered USB hub in between the 2 cables.

You'll definately need something to do the copying! (e.g. a PC)

Needs to be no length at all really... a meter max I guess.

My 707 has a peer-to-peer mode, but I think that's only for talking directly to a printer. I'm not aware of any that can talk to a storage device.

If you haven't got your cable already, check this place out:

www.euronetwork.co.uk/index.html

They are VERY cheap - and excellent on delivery.

I needed to get 10m optical cable. The cheapest I could find at a high street store was £70. Euronetwork: £16.50!

One very happy Ropey!

Hi Matt, thanks - I'll keep that logged but I've given up on the original case for the cable!

PS: how's my baby? God I miss her!
