Just wandering if anyone can shed any light on a strange sight my dad and i saw yesterday. We were out driving the new car between Lapworth and Warwick. Down a little road nearly Wroxall Abbey if you know the area. Well outside a nice house down there is a massive collection of Rover 75's. Loads of diffrent spec ones lwb ones which im led to believe are quite rare. There must be 30 to 40 rover 75's there. Stranger which many of them seem to be taxed too with JMS on the numberplate. Was quite a sight really never seen so many 75's all together before.

well the reputation earned on the 1.4 engine is thoroughly deserved.

So you can have a diesel with few problems, two different V6's with few problems,a 1.8, or a 1.4 that was never fitted but has a throughly deserved reputation for HGF,so of course makes the 75 st.Here we go again.

At a guess I'd say it'a an enthusiast who runsa 75/ZT spares company. There's few on the forum, who also specialise in putting them bsck on the road, not particularly for profit, just becasue they like the marque.Lot's of these are the alleged HGF, that in fact turns out to be nothing of the sort, but Mr."Its a Rover it's st" mechanic can't be bothered to look into so tell Mr Pork-pie hat it's a write off.

I saw a Rover 75 in Guinea West Africa the other week. I was in the middle of nowhere and this 75 cruises by over the dirt track, english plates etc. It did make me chuckle, it was so completely out of place.

As a motor trader for two years there, i came across more Fords with injector problems / VW's with Turbo problems / Peugeots with DPF problems than i ever had Rovers with head gasket problems.

Unfortunately, in people's minds it only seems to be Rovers that ever break down.

The upside of that is they are cheap cars for those that are rather less blinkered.

Saw an MG6 close up and it's a great car in its own right. But god, it's HUGE! It's too big to rival a Focus but too small to rival a Mondeo. Just like the 45 of yesteryear.

I'd love a good 2.5 v6 75 or MG. Keeping an eye out for one, just to keep and waft about in.
