Steering Column
Discussion
Couple of questions regarding the steering column and any help would be appreciated. I have NUS0049 which we picked up around a month ago. When we picked it up, the turn switch would not shut off and we were told it needed a new switch. I installed a new switch with no luck but saw that the steering wheel hub wasn't fully engaged so it couldn't hit the turn off switch.
Question 1: There is a lot of vertical play in the steering column even after the adjustment lever is tight. Is this normal?
Question 2: There is a plastic bushing around the steering column just in front of the steering wheel hub. Should the bushing be flush with the column and by pressing it in, would it help with the vertical play. It appears to retain the bearings.

No dealer in the USA. The importer is the one who pointed out that the switch was bad. Yeah, a little bit important since the steering wheel from the factory wasn't installed correctly and we ended up driving it for around 600 miles while waiting for the switch. In the US, we have dedication to this car since we own and drive one without having the luxury of dealer support next door.
