Paul

I think there were a pair listed on fleabay yesterday? I'll have a look for the listing number.

Thanks guys - I had been watching this last week on ebay - thought you might be able to buy just the motor itself...

Thanks Mark - Rimmers good value - unless you want to part with one of yours Danny - was going to have a play at seeing if it was just seized/could be 'unstuck' but failing that....

Thanks again for making this a great forum for info etc!

I agree, Rimmers ones do look good value.

You might be able to fix yours, over the years I've had a window jam a few times.

Twice it was wear in the quadrant gear at the fully lowered position. If you remove the motor (you'll have to drill out the 3 mounting rivets) and see if the motor works once it's not engage with the mechanism. To get round this you can either drill a hole in an appropriate part of the quadrant and fit a nut and bolt as a stop, you'll only need to restrict the last 1/2" of travel. Alternatively you can cut between the next tooth on the quadrant gear and bend it to restrict movement.

Once I had a motor seize due to lack of lubrication, they are a bit fiddly to reassemble, you'll need a couple of pieces of stiff wire to hold the brushes out when re-inserting the armature.

Finally I had one strip the nylon worm gear, that's when I gave up and sourced some spares!

Thanks Wyn - tried many bangs with the hammer to no avail.

Thanks for the heads up Danny - my new motor and window mechanism arrived from Rimmer yesterday and fitted today ! - the Wedge is fully operational!

Thanks for the help all.

Paul.
