I'm going to California on Friday for a bit of a jolly and I was wondering what songs to choose for my driving playlist. I dont mind cheese, film scores, old or new but what would you pick for an epic Californian road trip?

Don't bother, California has some of the best rock radio stations. Just tune in a few of them in the car and let them play classics all day long. I lived in San Diego for two years and never had to put a CD in my car. One station even played an Essential Metallica hour every day at 8pm

Fun Fun Fun by The Beach Boys i9s a completely different track cruising through Huntington Beach in a convertible rather that a wet traffic jam on the M25.

Here's my US playlist when I'm in a Hertz Mustang on Route 66. Alphabetical order because it's straight off the iPod but I normally play it on shuffle.

Can't go wrong with good old Classic Rock.

Have you ever heard 'Drivers Seat' by Sniff 'n' The Tears? Look it up. A forgotten classic of the same era. Also a good driving number.
