Iv probably had it for three years but only had a few hours use of it.
But the battery is flat enough to not want to undo anything, but won't charge.
The green 'charged' light won't move to 'charging' when the button is pressed.

Now iv phone up sealey and they can look at it for a fee.
But has anyone else had this problem? Or know how I can test? A charger or battery is £50. Just do t want to replace the wrong part!

Sounds like the battery to me. Is it a Nicd battery?
Sometimes running the tool so the battery becomes completely discharged helps to try and get it back but usually they are too far gone.

Hi, did you ever get to the bottom of the fault? I'm having exactly the same fault. Neither of my batteries for my cp2400 will charge.

If the tool is used infrequently, there's. good chance the batteries have failed. I have a number of battery powered tools of different makes and have had a few battery failures, mainly with Bosch tools when they have been left for a period.

Often it's cheaper to just buy another tool than replace the battery, a poor reflection on the makers.

i cant run the bl00dy thing down as its used so infrequently.

it appers to be taking on charge, but the red charge light wont go on. it stays green.

i bought it, used it heavily, now just use it for taking the odd wheel off.

sealey would take a look at it but it would be charged.

Try flicking the power on an off a few times, I've seen similar flat nicads that will quickly show themselves as fully charged when flat, and often a few stabs of on and off seem to get them on over the hill and back charging again.

Last example was the battery pack on a 360 controller, it would show charged after 1-2 seconds although it was flat. After 5-10 attempts at plugging and unplugging it, it eventually started to charge for longer and came back to life.

My CP2400 impact wrench batteries have stopped charging today. Just like others have had the charger wont go to fast charge when you press the set button.
Spoke to Sealey who said the chargers only have 6 month warranty then offered me a replacement Wrench, Battery and Charger for £94.50 plus carriage, plus VAT. Obviously said no as it is a bit steep for and item that obviously has a systemic problem and is not fit for purpose.
Are Sealey the sort of company we want to buy stuff from? I will try to avoid them in future.

I've fitted new cells in a workmate's Sealey wrench (and a couple of other nicad battery packs). You need to be pretty reasonable at soldering, or have a battery welder, and it scores zero on the funometer, but it is straight forward and costs less than £30.

You don't know how long item was in stock for,if it is a slow moving item it could be old, hence battery failure.

My Sealey impact wrench battery packed up recently so I opened it up with the intention of replacing the cells, however I found that there is a temperature sensor attached to one of the cells and one of the connections to it was broken, I repaired the connection and the battery now charges properly

Mc Allister (B&Q cheapie) impact wrench wouldn't take charge. I put the battery in the Aga (other ovens will do the same) for about 10 mins. It then charged as normal.
That was about 5 years ago, as I had bought a replacement I gave it to a mate who still uses it.
The replacement Clarke went in the bin last month
