I drove through our village on Sunday (roof down) and a bunch of lads shouted out "nice car mate", "cool motor mister" and "love your TVR"

What do you do when this happens?

1. Wave
2. Just smile at them
3. Pretend you haven't heard and fix your stare at the road ahead but grin to yourself.
4. Think yourself lucky they didn't say "love your triumph mate"

Probably unlikely they'd say anything nice about a triumph anyway!

That would depend on which model of Triumph, the average person would have something nice to say about any TR (1-8), a Stag or a GT6 to name but a few.....

Whoops, that didn't come out how I meant it

What I meant was that to a youngster a Triumph is probably what Grandad used to drive when he was a lad!

I've driven a TR4 and a TR6 and a Stag (not owned them) and they were great fun.

Actually, for all the old boys ...
I saw an episode of deals on wheels the other day and they mentioned that the Stag has no problems with corrosion which is not what I recall, weren't they double skin construction and rotted from the inside out?

Had this the other week when in Cumbria.
Cruising through the lanes when we came across loads of kids and parents.
The kids where shouting lovely things like wicked car mate and other nice comments but the best part was when the adults moved all the kids out the way and gave a wink and a wave to me to gun it!
Had to oblige, smiles all round! lol

A little while later Im in the hotel car park unpacking when said group are walking past.
Adults saying things like "KIDS, its that TVR again" "O WOW I love that car, Daaaaaaaad!!!!! LOL
May have made a few budding S enthusiasts that day!

Dave

Just looked at the picture in your profile. So which of the robbin' gits stole your car then, and why did they leave the engine behind?

lol, I thought you would come back with something like that when I made a mistake updating my pictures after you spurred me on to do it!

And I cant change it back now

Smile, if they keep staring, blip the throttle - its what they want to see more than anything, for sure, and in a TVR you cant be a showoff (debatable) its just good clean all round appreciation for a fantastic machine which sounds the nutz!

We were going through the southwick tunnel on friday night (cant help the abundance of story telling, need to see a psychiatrist) not a car in sight, I slowed to about 10mph and went through the gears. Close to the other end, I clutched in and gave a few satisfying blips of the throttle and a couple standing near enough to watch and hear us come out turned around, big grins on their faces, watched the car go by

I cant remember if I posted this story (I still cherish each one like it happened 5 mins ago) but I pulled out of a side lane in front of a pub, and with a massive crowd of people who all seemed to simultaneouly turn and stare, probably smiling cause they were all pi$$ed... but you have to acknowlege them, if the road is clear ahead, smile back, and engage the hyperdrive

Girls dont seem to notice the S much, I noticed. Not as much as blokes anyway If it was the other way around, Id be driving along regally, waving like a lonie/the queen all day

I've noticed that too, it has more of a classic appeal.

A few months ago we had our garden sorted and the boss fella loved the S3, while his young (chavling) assistant couldn't stop looking at the hot-hatch.

Just takes some maturity to appreciate the curves and styling

Younger women in their 20's usually look more than those who appear to be 30+

Perhaps it's me who notices them more

That is it then as I'm sub 30 (just!)

Perhaps me and the S3 will be more appreciated by the under 20's - perhaps I'll take in a drive-though MCDonalds tonight

Seems to be quite the opposite here.

Madame always this was normal as the S has a 'look' that is so appealing to women......
