'Every SLK - R170 vs R171 vs R172'

I've just noticed that Mercedes Enthusiast magazine ( http://www.mercedesenthusiast.co.uk ) will be running an article in the April 2013 issue entitled 'Every SLK - R170 vs R171 vs R172'.

Sounds interesting - should be out in a week or so.

My copy arrived today - there's a 6-page article on the SLKs.

Interesting view from the writer: "Which would I have? The R170 is by far the best looking to my eyes, yet I would find living with the R171 and R172 easier."

However, his final preference was for the R171 SLK280. Of the 3 cars tested (R170 SLK230, R171 SLK280 and R172 SLK250CDI) this was the only V6, the others being 4-bangers. I wonder what he would have said, had he tested the R170 SLK320 or SLK32 AMG?

He still would have concluded that the R171 280 was the best car.

In fact, had the test includes a Ferrari 458, Bugatti Veyron, and a Porsche Carrera GT the R171 280 would still have soundly beaten them.
