Well, it lasted two weeks this time before something else went wrong! Had a new radiator fitted on the RX8 just over a week ago, a few days later I was driving it when the oil light pops up... Seemed strange as I had only just topped the oil up. I backed off the accelerator, dipped the clutch and it went out within 5 seconds so I thought nothing of it, carried on and checked the oil when I next stopped. Oil level was fine still.. Few days later it happens again so I checked the oil again, it had gone down a bit so I topped it back up. Out driving on Saturday the car/clutch (which is new) was juddering when pulling off in 1st and again the oil light kept coming on during the journey. On my way into work this morning was giving it a bit of a blast once it had warmed up, around 6k RPM it started to go very flat. Sorted itself out pretty quickly and carried on, then accelerating in 2nd it goes flat again briefly, quick check of the rear view mirror and I have smoked out the poor buggers behind me with lots of grey/white smoke.
Safe to say I can rule out plugs as they were done within last 7k miles, coil pack and leads were done in the last 5k. Clutch and gearbox was done within last 10k miles. Oil last changed with plugs in the last 7k miles.
It does have the whole hot start problem - will this be related?? Getting paranoid the engine is jed!
