Hi just a quick one,

I've been bestowed with a new (to me) wagon.

It's fitted with a Siemens VDO digital tachograph, I've usedsimilar before but this one seems to usr break as the default setting.

I change it to other work whenever I can but inevitably I forget, obviously vosa won't he too happy about showing the incorrect mode. So can you change this in the menus or something?

Cheers.

I think it needs to go to a tacho centre for this as mine did this when i got it

in 2008.

I think the company 7.5 does this, the driver mentioned it to the manager but i don't think

it's ever been rectified.

I rarely drive the 7.5 so i don't worry about it.

Has to be done at dealer/specialist. I would look at is as a bonus to be honest and VOSA would have to be very very bored or annoyed to dig you out over it.

If it's the same "fault" as the 7.5 i mentioned above.

The mode goes to bed/break every time you stop, even in traffic which obviously it

shouldn't do.

I have to be careful with mine as the mode changes when you turn key off.

So i cannot select bed before turning off or it reverts to other work.

That caught me out when i first got it but after 4 years i have got used to it and ALWAYS

check i am on break when i want to besmile

Needs to go into a tacho centre, can be set to switch to any mode when the ignition is turned off/on, I suspect you'll want it programmed to 'no change'.

My old one did the same, was handy if you forgot, new one doesnt, trying to remember after 5 years of not is hard. Nearly forgot on the ferry last week.

Mine does that but only if i leave it on break after my lunch.

I'm assuming its been changed to other work after your break and it still does it.

I wouldn't be complaining if it defaults to break.

My Scania I had in 08-10 defaulted to other work, and I fell foul of insufficient rest periods when I forgot to change the mode switch some evenings, lost a full weekend rest period twice as it recorded on other work. Stupid bloody thing.
