Donate a PistonHeads PC to TVR idea !!!

Suggested this half seriously on the speed 6 forum.
More I think about it the more it seems not a bad idea...
Why don't we (PH) club together and buy the workers at TVR a 'PistonHeads' PC. Doesn't need to be fancy.. 100-200 quid or so PC which is ideal for surfing the net.
We donate it to the workers for the new canteen. We try to persuade TVR to pay for the broadband connection to the internet. If we get knowhere we could pay for that for 6 months or a year (15 quid a month) and get it online.
1) it's a thankyou to the workers (as I understand it from this months SPRINT there are about 2 PCs in the whole company and only one has internet access). They can check there email at lunchtime, etc
2) it provides a windows to the customers. Workers that want to join in or just read PH forums, etc can do easily.
3) Grass roots approach means the right people hear any problems/concerns we customers have and build bonds with the folk that matter (the workers).
what do you reckon ?
tenner each and 40 folk would give us enuf for a PC and broadband access for a year !

Good idea by the way. Count me in. Having read that most of them have never been in the cars they build I was thinking of offering mine up for a staff spin!

hell went on the back of my mates one a while ago up the M32 - Jeez - he said he had some trouble as the extra weight over the rear wheel was lifting the front at about 130...errr. kph.

I was surprised to read a while back that most of the employees at TVR had not driven one. Maybe young Nic could take a leaf out of Triumph Motorcycles book. Staff there, if they have a motorcycle licence, get to take one of the bikes home for the weekend every now and then. There is a fleet for staff use, and it gets rotated. So one weekend you may get a 600, the next time your name comes up, a Bonnevile, etc.
Good way of improving morale (if that's needed), and a low-cost way of saying "thank-you" for your work.

I'm in for a tenner. Or can probably salvage/scavenge some old PC/laptop from bits lying around. To all the nay-sayers... take a look at the Noble forum where there's direct company feedback. It certainly seems to be seen as a positive thing on that forum. I for one would be much happier if there was more communication with the community from the factory. If they don't like dealing with the bitter "your cars are leaking tubs of plastic with engines made of toffee", then they can just ignore those and deal with the real questions. No biggie.
Communication to the factory floor would undermine all official TVR comms IMHO....
The fact that the vast majority of floor staff have never driven a TVR or have access at work to a PC would indicate to me that they may not be the best placed people to converse with the PH massive....With topics like quality, failures, service, model releases, warranties, parts...The list of questions would be endless...
Not trying to belittle the Factory workers in any way, but if its anything like most companies, the workforce are the last to know whats going on.....

Can you imagine the trouble someone would get into if they reported something in error, or took it upon themselves to communicate secret information...

There are considerably more than two PCs within TVR, honestly!
There'd be fights breaking out in the canteen as 300 production staff try to access one PC...
