I was browsing about in ebay looking at ferrari 355 prices and spotted one for sale by the seller "Exclusive Motors Ltd", FAR too cheap (£25k), this was a few weeks ago, and i forgot about it.

Anyhoo, i noticed it in my ebay watch list as still on sale, and decided to have a look again, the seller now has a lot of interesting and expensive cars listed, quite cheap, all obviously NOT photographed in the same place, or even in the UK.

What are they up to?

(ETA - its a NEW seller with 0 feedback too...)

just went on to their website, it seems nearly all the pictures were taken abroad, the prices are in euros, and the cars dont have interior shots, and if you click on a car the writing turns foreign.
I hope you dont outbid me, this looks too good to be true...

The SLR is clearly sat in a merc dealership, and taken with a (cheap) phone camera...

I just came back from Athens. Around 70,000 small-medium business have closed down over the past year. Many busy street corners now proudly present 2nd hand car sales forecourts stuffed with repossessed vehicles - lots and lots of high end cars.

But the economy is absolutely fcked. Most normal people have had their disposable income halved, through salary reduction and hugely hiked up taxes. I was on a business trip and my greek colleagues confirmed that they have literally lost half of their income.

So that now poses an interesting situation.. Lots of high end cars, with absolutely no market for them.

Of course there's room for a scam on top of all this, but I believe there's a genuine reason for a flood of cheap high end cars in Greece.

The real question when buying one will be, do you trust a car which has been run by someone whose business failed...? Right now, even the responsible, previously successful businesses are failing to the market crumbling like the Acropolis, so even this isn't necessarily an indicator that the cars have been treated badly.

That ferrari engine bay though - does NOT look like it's only done 21,000 miles!

It's not just the reduction of income but also the increase in taxes for anything over 1800cc. As usual, the increases are predicated on the environment but if you want to own a 3.0 litre + car in Greece you get well and truly dry raped.

Interesting concept but could be executed a lot better.

Import the cars, carry out the SVA an put them on uk plates then take some decent pictures on your uk forecourt = profit

How cheap are they in greece? Guess the cheapest way to get them here is on the back of a 12 car transporter on the ferry?
