You used to not be able to build up Clubcard points on Esso Petrol.

You can now.

Just in case it helps anyone...

Can you use the '5p off per litre' coupons though?

It used to be 2 points, per litre or per pound, can't quite remember which hehe

When I used Tesco for the company car, it was 1 point for every £2 spent. So a £70 tank would net 35 points.

Still managed to rack up about 1000pts per quarter on average, on fuel alone!

Thanks for that. Never used to bother if I got £20 of petrol and a couple of papers, just too much hassle for the price of the papers.

I've always found as well that whenever Tesco run the 5p off a litre discount when you do a £50 shop, that the price of petrol at the pumps tends to jump 2-3p during the time the promotion runs thus minimising the discount they have to give (or at least it tends to in a few of the ones round my way anyway).

Tesco Express have the most expensive fuel around my local area. Shell is the cheapest.
