I won't comment on the car itself. TBH I think as others have said it's just incredibly cheap, it started off as £37K originally with the owner. You add just the cosmetics to that figure and you're pushing £41K straight off.
I remember this time last year when I was contacting people and put up a wanted thread for an M400 I was told you could get one for £35-37K and I basically got laughed at. I then stumped up the offer for £40K and that started to push with 2 owners as £42,000, even then they wouldn't sell despite me having the money. It has then been circulated with 3 other M400 owners that the going rate for a good example this year is £43-45,000 especially for this summer in mind, seasonal or not come to think of it.
The issue I've had against the red one is that the public Mole valley red example that I'm sure we all remember at £36,000 from 2 years ago was the mind frame even I had back then and it's becoming some of the public's perception that an M400 is a £35K car, which is very frustrating when it's not and that's part of the reason I've had a couple of offers for under £40k when I thought I was selling mine cheap anyway. I think once the red one is sold and other M400's come on the market you won't get one for under £40,000 plus, I'm almost certain of it, unless someone is desperate to sell. I wouldn't say it's de-valued M400 owner's cars but it is putting it out there that an M400 is cheaper than it is but owners simply won't sell them for that price, the market would once again dry up and an unlucky few would pay the premium for that in the future. I know people who have seen this red one and you have to put some cash into it, a fair bit, but just so I'm not seen to be biased it's a good deal for M400 ownership. I hope that comes across as a fair summary.
