Apart from the Acle straight? wink

I've got the vehicle to so it, now I just need the location (locally).

I'm guessing I'm going to need 2 miles for a standing start hit the magic number and stop again. Does this sound about right? Or could it be done on less?

So I was thinking, runways or perhaps pulling in a favour or two over at the lotus factory for use of their test track.

Any thoughts/advice greatly recieved.

Tim.

If you can hit 200mph on the Lotus Test Track in any vehicle and not end up parked upside down in the far end of Potash lane I'd be spectacularly impressed!

Most I've managed is about 150 in a GT4 race car, I don't even think the GT2 would go over 170 with the chicane bypassed!

That's interesting. For some reason I had it in my head it was a mile and a half long.

Thanks though. Nicely rules that one out. Incidentally, how long is the straight there?,

The whole track is only 2.2 miles long, although there might be a mile and a half's worth of straights they're all separated by corners hehe

I'd estimate the longest straight with the chicane removed is about half a mile with a fast corner leading onto it.

Not sure how long you would be jailed for .. with 200 mph on the public roads though.

Someone did 200+ in Brighton a few years back and the police officially
recorded the speed and did nothing.

Brighton Speed trial if you are wondering...

That's where the AM employees got snapped repeatedly on the DB9 launch.

Of course if one was silly enough one 5 am morning with one,s mates either end texting the all clear it could be done on this stretch I believe . But you,d have to be really silly . whistle

Might be worth asking about the former RAF Bentwaters too.

The Caparo T1 was hitting 187 on the back straight at Snetterton a couple of years back and I can't think of a faster road car so you'll need a big straight.

It may or may not be possible to get close to 200 on the last stretch of the Haverhill bypass.

Obviously I have never tried max out a zx10 on this road.

It is just what other people tell me!

I know someone who recommends the A11 where it leaves the M11 junction heading NE towards Fourwentways. It's something like a four mile stretch and pretty much dead straight and you can see for quite a way!
