Stereo 993 (1997)

I know there are a few threads relating to this but I wondered if anyone has fitted Porsche's own new 'retro' style stereo in their 993 which apparently has the look of the original system but with bluetooth nav etc. I believe its around 1k! Therefore, any alternative options or info would be appreciated. Many thanks

IMHO don't bother - it looks hideous, sits proud of the dash and its styling is at least a decade too old for a 993. Find a becker 79## series Indianapolis or Cascade Pro instead.

If you can live without the nav, the Blaupunkt Toronto 420 is quite neat and simple looking, I have one in my 968 and it 'blends' in well.

I thought that modern head units look fine in a 993. I got new head unit and speakers fitted and the whole lot sounded brilliant for not a lot of money. Spend the rest on petrol or a trackday or both!

Shame Bekkar stopped making their radios - they looked and sounded excellent

Becker is the way to go, they look oem I fitted a Becker Cascade to my old 993 Turbo.

Gives you SD based nav and Handsfree via Bluetooth.

Often come up on eBay for approx £400.

Ive fitted a couple of the porsche units, and didn't think that they were worth the money.
