I`m thinking of having my Chrimera resprayed.
Anybody know what I should budget for.

depends on the amount of prep work needed. I've been looking around and i'm expecting to pay about £2k for a top job?

I'd be very shocked if you'd get anything more than a ford mondeo job for that price. 90-100 hours labour go into a proper job

Very much depends on the colour you choose, my respray is costing £2400 and thats with me stripping tha car myself saving a lot, pearlecent paint or certain paints are very expensive as much as £1000 per ltr I was told,,,

disagree strongly

for starters a Chim is a small car, and it has no roof.
that means less paint, less prep time, less work afterwards etc etc

We've painted 3 chims in the last two months and this is the time they have taken by the job card

It depends in the condition of the cars paint,
It's a small car to paint
No dents to repair
And price will change a lot depending if you want a colour change or just a freshen up on you're old colour

Don't get robbed with Tvr tax

I agree that there is no dents to repair but with every Tvr we have ever worked on there's always stress cracks in the fibreglass that need to be ground out and fibreglass and where possible matted from behind. If they were just filled they would reappear in a short time, ill dig some pics out for you

We do them at £3500

The brake down is 85 hours at £35
And £500 paint and materials.

You can get them done cheaper if they are just machine sanded from start to finish but it does have an effect on the final finish, where when they are blocked you have a much straighter car with high gloss levels

At some point I hope to pull the roof off and carpets out of mine and get her a respray, then new roof and carpets - mind you it's a long list of things to do before then!
